Study and Work Productive at Home

It has been some time since the last post. I am back in the swing of writing with several tips I gathered for you about studying or working at home effectively. If you wonder the tips, check down below and enjoy testing them.

1- Give one full day break!

When you hear this, do you say "yeyy breaks" or " I cannot give a whole full day break.. there are lots of things to do." No matter how you answer this, you should give a full day break maybe once in a week or in two weeks.

Even though we think that we are quite busy and cannot spend time for ourselves, we need this. Otherwise your mind is going to blow up.

The trick of the day is to not think about any work you have or assignments.. Anything at all. Plan your work in advance so that you do not need to think about it constantly. Spend the whole day for you. Do the things you like. What are you pastimes? What would make you relaxed and refreshed?

Believe me, you will feel ready for the following study/work days.

2- Get some inspirations.

Following a blog, youtube channel, or instagram which is about studying and staying productive could help you to keep yourself on your work. This is just like going to library instead of studying home or going to office rather than working at home because people around you actually inspires and encourages you to do more.

So, follow someone who shares such photos, videos, even online study with me streams might encourage you. I follow two pages in instagram that are about studying/working productive. If you'd like to learn them send me an e-mail :)

3- Stop dwelling on work all day along.

Here we are. I should tell this to myself as well. Please Tugce stop it, it is non-productive.

It is crucial to take much-needed break each day after work or study. You should not dwell on work 24/7. This does not only mean to shut down your computer, you should turn off work or study related thoughts. If you cannot disengage from work, it can lead to high stress and lowered productivity levels. An exhausted person cannot be productive. If you rest you mind and body, you will be more clear-headed.

End your day with a good note to yourself or meditating, reading a book. Select the one which disconnects you and switch to a more pleasant state.

4- Have a to-do list.

Who would not enjoy scratching things off their list? Doesn't it promote a sense of achievement? Having a to-do list helps organize thoughts and works, thus, reduces concerns about forgetting important ones.

The list should combine both work and personal life activities. You can tell yourself to drink water first in the morning, do yoga or meditation for 10-15 min, straighten up your desk, have a breakfast, work or study activities you are planning to complete by the end of the day etc. However, do not put pressure on yourself if you cannot complete all. Do not get stressed if you cannot finish everything, just jot them down for the next day and continue. I also recommend to be flexible with times you will perform them. It is better to put a timeframe than having exact times for each task.

5- Give several breaks.

Placing an exaggerated importance on your work and study all the time in a day makes you less productive and concentrated. You will get tired and less focused easily which will stress you out. Why not taking several short breaks? You can pause for 10-15 min and go for a brisk walk, do yoga, drink tea and jot down the things you are grateful for, call a friend or family. There are bunch of things you can do in that frame. Moreover, give a lunch break. Especially during this hard times (quarantine), give yourself break and call your friend to have a lunch with them over a video call. It is important to come back to your work fresh and concentrated.
